I qualified from the University of Bristol in 1998 and immediately began my career in general practice. For the past 11 years I have run my own practice in Lichfield, Staffordshire.
Over the years I have trained with some of the finest dentists and specialists in the UK and Europe, learning more and more about all different aspects of dentistry. This has given me a holistic approach to dentistry as I am not wedded to one particular treatment modality and am able to offer our clients a wide range of options.
Although I consider myself to be competent in many areas of dentistry I have particular expertise in:
I have undertaken extensive postgraduate training in the field of dental implants: completing a year long course with the ITI (International Team for Implantology) in 2007 and spending two years with the Royal College of Surgeons studying for my Diploma in Implant dentistry. As well as many other minor courses I have also completed three, one-year postgraduate courses in restorative and cosmetic dentistry.
My general ethos in dentistry is to help my clients achieve stable, healthy mouths which require the least amount of dentistry. The standard that I set is that all our work must mimic nature in terms of function and aesthetics.
The loves of my life include my family, dentistry and cricket. Probably in that order :
Harry graduated from Cardiff University in 2012 and went up to Leeds to complete his DF1 and begin his career in general practice. Harry and his wife have since moved to the Midlands and have never looked back. Since settling in the Midlands area Harry has worked in practices in Stoke on Trent and Ashbourne where he has gained some invaluable experience in general dentistry.
Since graduation Harry has taken his MFDS exam at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. By taking these exams Harry has enhanced his knowledge, experience and clinical competence.
Harrys main ethos in dentistry is make all patients feel at ease. He feels that his experiences so far have enabled him to build on the skills required to perform professional and ethical treatment, with the interest of each individual patient. Harry feels that it is his role not only to provide good dentistry but to work with the patient and build their trust. He has treated numerous dental phobic and anxious patients and has put them at ease and reduce the worry and stress of future appointments.
In his spare time, Harry loves the outdoors and he trains throughout the year to race in triathlons and ironman triathlons during the Summer months.
Helen is one of our two dental hygienists in our Lichfield Dental Practice. Helen joined us via a personal recommendation.
Her attentive and calm manner puts patients at ease and she has a gentle, encouraging approach to patients needs. This makes Helen the ideal hygienist for those of us that are a little more wary of all things dental.
Helen is married with twin girls.
Hayley is also a hygienist who joined us after a long search for a second hygienist.
Since joining us it is clear that Hayley is as dedicated to her job as I am; she is constantly updating her knowledgebase and strives to educate her clients so they know as much about the health of their own mouth.
Although she may sound as if she originates from the Yorkshire Dales she's a local girl heralding from Stafford.
Beth is one of our dental nurses and is crucial in helping to look after our clients.
As a dental nurse her main role is to ensure that our cross infection controls are performed to the highest standards and to ensure that all our treatments proceed efficiently and to the highest standards.
She also serves as a treatment coordinator, someone who can answer the more technical queries that you may have and walk you through the type of treatment you require and the stages necessary.
Tina is our principal nurse and acts as Stuarts third (and fourth) arm. She has been with us since it first began and ensures that the clinical aspects of the practice run as smoothly as possible.
Tina is married and has a son, Ben, in high school.
